The company Mitsubishi has officially unveiled the new compact crossover Outlander Sport. The model debuted in South Africa and is offered at a price of approximately $23,000. Despite the similarity in name, the newcomer is not directly related to the standard Outlander, as it is significantly more compact and is based on the global version of the Mitsubishi Xforce.
The new Outlander Sport features a modern sporty design with a raised hood, short overhangs, and flared fenders. At the front of the vehicle, there are wide radiator grilles, and the LED optics are executed in a distinctive T-shaped style. The car’s dimensions are as follows: length – 4,390 mm, width – 1,810 mm, height – 1,660 mm, and wheelbase – 2,650 mm.
The crossover’s interior is equipped with two digital displays: one functions as the instrument panel, while the other is designated for the multimedia system. Additional options include keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, an electric tailgate, and wireless smartphone charging.
Under the hood of the new Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 105 horsepower, paired with a CVT. The crossover is available only with front-wheel drive but offers a high ground clearance of 222 mm and several modes for off-road driving.
The Outlander Sport model is designed for fans of affordable and functional vehicles, combining style, efficiency, and basic off-road capabilities.
